Second to Last Social

Yesterday was the second to last informational social for an organization I belong to, the Junior League of Oakland-East Bay. It's a wonderful organization filled with bright, successful and interesting women from all over the East Bay. Our interests are philanthropic, social and personal and I am charged with recruitment for this year along with my partner in crime Mazie.

So, we had a great turnout yesterday at Leah's house in the Berkeley hills, great weather, too! Anyone who wants to learn more about this organization should visit our website (it will be redesigned soon, so don't hold that against us).

Anyway, our mission is promote volunteerism, develop the potential of women and improve communities- of course we reap the benefits of socializing, seeing parts of the bay area we wouldn't necessarily see and meeting people we would not necessarily meet. I'll post lots of things about my activities in the league, so stay tuned...

Ahhhhh.... The First Time

Don't we all need another venue in which to express our innermost thoughts and desires, to share the mystery of finding the perfect restaurant, boutique, street to ride a bike, or zipcar to rent? And what a world we now have with blogging... add me to the mix- I'm one more blogger, now!

So, now is my opportunity to shine! I love to be a resource to friends who've recently moved to the Bay Area and more specifically to the East Bay. As a recovering real estate agent that's probably the one thing I loved the most- sharing with my clients the best handyman, loan broker, neighborhood cafe, or new addition to their neighborhood. I also think it's a good place to store a collection of my activities, interests, likes and dislikes (for posterity). One more opinion to read about on the WORLD WIDE WEB. Now, I just have to get my digital camera to work, so I can add imagery.

Enjoy!
